Gee, I don't know, last time I checked we are in Iraq at their pleasure, they have had numerous elections that we did not control the outcome of. Aside from reshufling the deck, helping them out with some provisions of their constitution and training their military and police force to kick Al-queda in the crotchl, aside from giving the Kurds freedom, I guess there is no difference between what the Soviets did and what we have accomplished in two countries.
