I miss Simple as well. Although he was French, a nearly unforgiveable sin, he never gave up and would defend his country to the last extremity. Had more Frenchmen had his spirit, World War II would have turned out far more differently than it did.

Too bad such determination is wasted on a Frenchman.

But, Simple...we can choose our friends, even if we can't choose our relatives. You can always immigrate. You can put aside the shameful circumstances of your birth, as a Frenchman. No one need ever know.
